Our Mission
Our company, RESOLUTE MARITIME SERVICES, was founded in 2012 and is headed by two established professionals who are veterans in the field of marketing the services of major ship repair yards worldwide, on an exclusive basis or through dedicated cooperation arrangements. Our role is to market the services o f our Principals to the various Shipowners in the Greek market by liaising mainly with their Technical Departments, where we enjoy contacts from Technical Manager level, to Fleet Manager and Superintendent, spanning many years of first class service to the shipping community. Our main asset is our good name and professionalism. Our combined experience in this field spans more than six decades.

 

The veterans concerned are Dr. Alex Scaramangas and Mr. Nikos Pappas.

As stated, our good name in the Greek market, broad experience and connections provide our Principals, existing and prospective, with a solid platform under our company. In addition to our exclusive representations, we have selective dealings with certain key Chinese yards in distinct geographical areas, as well as key yards in the Caribbean and the US Gulf, under a “dedicated cooperation” arrangement from our side, aimed at providing the quality service our clients have come to expect of us.

 

Our company’s premises are conveniently located close to the sea end of Syngrou Ave., the major avenue connecting Athens city center with the port of Piraeus and the south coast, occupying approx. 200 m2 on the 3rd floor of a modern office building.

THE VETERANS

  • Dr. Alex Scaramangas

    Alex Scaramangas is a Naval Architect - Ocean Engineer (BSc Glasgow, PhD Cambridge, UK), with several publications in the specialist press relating to residual stresses in complex welded joints. On graduating from Cambridge, he was elected lecturer at Exeter College, Oxford, to continue his research, however, family circumstances brought him back to Greece. After working as a professional Naval Architect during his national service at the main repair base of the Hellenic Navy, he joined a reputable firm of marine surveyors and representatives for 26 years (1986 - 2012) as Managing Director. His expertise spans survey and consultancy work, marketing and promoting the services of shiprepair yards and other marine concerns, including the build-up of contacts and project follow - up from the enquiry stage to after sales service. Under RESOLUTE MARITIME SERVICES, Alex focuses on handling the company’s exclusive representation of major shiprepair yards at strategic geographical locations and on the promotion of innovative products for ship repair and newbuilding applications.

  • Mr. Nikos Pappas

    Nikos Pappas is a Naval Architect (BSc Southampton, MSc Cranfield, UK), who was for 22 years (1989-2012) Sales & Marketing Manager of a major shipyard in Greece (Elefsis Shipyards), overseeing all sales, marketing, advertising and promotional activities, responsible for the timely submission of competitive quotations, tender follow-up and price negotiations, establishing and maintaining customer relations, monitoring client satisfaction and visiting clients regularly. Prior to this position, Mr. Pappas was Marketing Manager with Bogdanos (1988-89) and before that Estimator with a well-known local shiprepair contractor.
